Book Launch - Owaka Museum and Information Centre - 2 pm Saturday 11th May 2013
Two books in one. Far From Home & Family and Please Send Home by Mary Sutherland & Jack Bickley.
War diaries and letters home tell the story of a young Southland man’s thoughts and experiences. And seven decades after World War II, they ignite an interest that results in a journey retracing his steps and those of the New Zealand soldiers in Greece, Crete, Egypt and Italy. Illustrated with 1940’s photographs and postcards and present day art and images.
Afternoon tea with Anzac biscuits.
