Plunket Caring for the welfare and health of mothers and children meetings are held monthly at Tokanui.

Playcentre Preschool education twice-weekly sessions at Tokanui for preschool children, parent education.

Garden Club meets monthly at local gardens, well supported by all age groups.

Primary School Tokanui, all children travel by buses from outlying areas - Waikawa, Niagara, Quarry Hills, Slope Point, Haldane, Otara and Fortrose.  Children are transported to Wyndham - Menzies College for manual training.

Rugby Caters for all ages at Tokanui, good rugby grounds and pavilion - a very popular winter sport.

Netball Has courts adjacent to the rugby grounds - caters for all ages.

Indoor Bowls A winter sport - Tokanui, Fortrose, Niagara, Waimahaka and Quarry Hills have club teams and play regular tournaments.

Golf Men and Women's Clubs play at the golf course at Fortrose.

Lions Club Meet monthly at Tokanui - members come from all around the District.

Spinners and Weavers  Meet monthly, members come from all around the area.

Scouts/Girl Guides/Cubs and Brownies  Meet at Tokanui at 6.00 pm on Thursdays.  Children travel from all around our District to attend.

Women's Division Branch meetings are held monthly at Waikawa, Tokanui, Otara and Waimahaka.

Churches In the area are Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, New Life and Fellowship.  All meet regularly.

Outdoor Bowls Meet in the summer at the Tokanui Bowling Club.

Ambulance Society Meets regularly for training practise.  Manned by local volunteers.

Fire Brigades Tokanui and Waikawa have regular meetings for training. Voluntarily manned.
